Assessing Indonesian student inductive reasoning: Rasch analysis

Inductive reasoning is an ability related to student academic achievement and embedded in 21st-century competency frameworks. The purpose of this study was evaluate Indonesian students’ inductive reasoning, validate adapted test for Indonesia, classify the difficulty items ability. participants were 856 students Grades 10, 11, 12 senior high schools as well undergraduate higher educational institutions West Kalimantan province, Indonesia. Four different tasks employed assess reasoning. data collection comprised onlinetest through eDia assessment platform a traditional paper-based test. results from Rasch analysis demonstrated that met validity reliability criteria based on parameters. Differential item functioning (DIF) revealed only one 40 moderate large DIF category method. further performed better solving figural than numeric items. Furthermore, older grades had logit measures younger students, however, no significant differences found between 10 11. No females males. abilities also classified understand evaluation
